Hi yall. I was hacked on one of "those" public sites and apparently people are getting emails that I sent them (not really LOL). If you get an email from me with a link to another site that has the word PORN in it, don't open it. Just delete it. I have changed my password on that site and hopefully that's the end of it.[:0]

Do you mean MySpace or FaceBook or a similar social networking site?

This one was Facebook...after I changed my password, someone still got an email that was not from me, so I deactivated that account altogether.

It could be that your computer is infected. That's what it sounds like.

Exactly. And once an email account has been spammed like that, it won't ever go away. What are you using for email - web based or outlook?

Hi Carrie, I got one of those also and need to know how to deactivate that site. Rarely use it and this isn't the first time I've gotten bad stuff. Seems the hacking is happening more and more often and FB just isn't secure anymore. So how did you deactivate yourself?
Aloha,
Mella L just back from an Oahu vacation with Gene! Lovely wedding and good friends.
Lanikai beach was awesome, so beautiful. Funny the beaches on Oahu you can smoke, drink alcohol and have your dogs! We saw it all, LOL. The North Shore is still as beautiful as eva!
Alert!!! Edited to say just received another FB hacked message. Wow.

When you go into your account to change the password you have the option to deactivate which is what I did. Mella - that new message was not from ME was it?

Yes Carrie it was, and I didn't check the time but it was after you posted sometime last eve. I think FB is compromised all around, as this is not the first or even second questionable occurrence I've had. This is just two in one day, but over the past month or two there have been several questionable occurrences from many different people.

Now when I do try to get onto FB through a link that was sent to me to ask questions about hacking, the main page comes up for about 1 second and no more...it just disappears! Anyway, I'm changing my password to many things as you can guess.

If you're using Outlook, I'd advise you to stop doing so and move to gmail or hotmail or yahoo - something web-based.
