Dick, Do you have insurance and bondable and are you a licensed contractor or are you going to fly below radar of the $1,000 limit per job?
If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it cost when it’s free...now here come the taxes.....

FYI, the kind of work he's offering to do doesn't need insurance, bonding, license. These are handyman level repairs. Seems like a nice offer to help out at "reasonable rates".

Ric is right. I am not interested in trying to compete with contractors. I am offering to do professional handyman repairs and maintenance. Mella; all newer shower heads have a flow restrictor installed to lessen water use. If you have an shower head that is not in use, look in the base where it screws onto the goose neck that comes from the wall. You will see a plastic piece with serrations. This can normally be unscrewed or pried out to increase the flow to your shower head. Try this on one of the ones that have not worked for you. I think you'll be happy with the results. Dick

As far as shower heads go, most of the newest shower valves have the flow restriction in the valve body itself. The ones that were in the heads were phased out when the no-scald feature was added. You can still find some of the older "not to code" valves at Home Depot in Hilo, last I looked, with the flow restrictors in the shower heads. A plain tub valve can be modified and used as a shower valve, But Beware that there is a danger of scalding!

The shower heads that extend out on a bar and spray straight down will work better on low flow valves.

I'm with Scott on this one, if nothing else you have recourse against a licensed contractor, you got nothing against the non-licensed ones. That has nothing to do with the services of handymen, I use them regularly in my business.

Seems this topic is changing to a debate on licensed vs. non-licensed contractors, . . . NOTHING AT ALL to do with the original post.

Geez, you guys, can't you understand an offer to do minor repairs without getting all bent out of shape? If you want to use a licensed person to do whatever, go ahead. Some of us might appreciate something more affordable.

This has become a rediculous, irrelevant discussion, that should be made under a different post, rather than debating someone's simple right to work.

we have seen dick's work. he didn't mention some of the projects that he completed on his new home. they include installing a chain link fence, converting a carport into an enclosed garage and putting a roof over his lanai.

he's capable of smaller projects as well. any one in need of a chicken coop? he built ours. he is reliable and dependable. always showed up when he said he would. he gets our thumbs up.

Nope, since they are not required to have a license. I require being license of those people who do work that require a license.
