Ya can't fix stupid.
Those who oppose medicinal marijuana better hope Karma isn't real.
Aren't the Republicans always promoting State's Rights? Now she is hiding behind the Federal law to promote this fear driven denial of liberty?

That's old news. It was reported in the papers and TV when it happened.

PaulW , Thanks, however it is ..............
Not the same bill or issue , This one called for a task force to study the issue.
Senate Bill 1058 passed the senate and house, Then a sneaky quiet veto by Lingle this week (the 9th). The senate did not support the veto, the house supported the veto.
Here is the other (current) link - the only one I could find locally

It is confusing..... I’ve never known a political system to make (or keep) things simple. Also seems this may the second time around for this proposal hence the confusion. Murky reporting (and my blogging) all around - Aloha

it's unfortunate that Hawaii elected "Groucho", to not one but two terms as our governor. Hey, but she came with the times. 9/11, and homeless terrorists under every park bench on Oahu. The residents of this fine state pannicked and voted for her thinking the GOP was gonna save the day?
Now with Lingle veto of this bill, Medical cannabis patients in Hawaii still have that "grey area" to contend with. Meaning no co-ops or clinics to get one's meds, leaving the cannabis patients to seek their meds through drug dealers. Which translates into higher prices, and lower quality! Thanks Lingle!!!!
God, I dislike that woman!

I called her office and suggested that the first state to legalize cannabis would be on the ground floor of a billion dollar industry, with all the benefits that would bring. I also said that if she did legalize, she would make history, and have a political future. As it is, her failed policies and lack of concern for her constituents has relegated her to the trash heap of politics.
