Out Door Over Heating When Working
#1
Has anyone ever tried one of these shirts while doing yard work or working out etc?
I'm wondering how effective they really are.

Sounds like a generic Under Armour shirt? My boys love them for football and basketball practices. Keeps them drier and cooler. They really work. Sold at all major sporting goods stores.

Uh... it doesn't appear to be a genaric Under Armour shirt and only available through the Fros-T brand name.
It actually has PVA discs (Poly Vinyl Alcohol) inbeded in the shirt.
Here's another link that describes the shirt better.

Just curios if anynoe has tried these shirts. It might work well when working outside in Waa Waa and keep me from sweating and over heating so badly, so it might make a great gardening shirt, but I don't know if its bull or it actually works.

I stand corrected.
It does seem different. Seems you would want 2-3 of them as the effect can last as little as 30 minutes? What happens to it when washed?

According to the ad it needs to be re-wetted when the cooling stops. As per washing them... I have no idea.
That's why I am asking if anyone has tried them yet.

That description seems to imply it's depending on evaporation for cooling. If so, it will not be nearly as effective in a high humidity environment.

Not perfect, but does help. Cold water with ice, wet and wring out a small towel leaving quite a bit of moisture in it and place around your neck, as it starts getting warm, redo. Used this method in Kona.
Also I keep stocked Gatorade and box of Electro-mix from the health food store, in case of dehydration

Sounds to me like you are failing to heed the Hawaiian notice: Work Pao!
