I am on that flank of Mauna Kea, and the one was a good jolt. The rest I didn't feel at all.

It's up to 12 in the last 38 min. Wouldn't that be a hoot if a Mauna Kea opened up!! Dormant??

Hi all,

Wow -- good to get a heads-up on it. I looked at the HVO website earlier in the day and things were ho-hum.

Hoot? The folks who work up there must be shaking! This is more activity than has been seen in a long time on Mauna Kea. I do love the access we get through the HVO website, but they don't have a category for MK.

Having lived next to Mt. St. Helens during it's eruption, I appreciate the differences between Hawaii's shield volcanoes and the Cascade ones. Hope it hasn't trashed the road, telescopes or anything!

Sophie thought she felt one at CostULess, otherwise we were in the vehicle and didn't notice.

I keep this link on my toolbar, it shows the latest earthquakes around the world.
Some of the earthquakes are repeated as other data feeds are recorded.

Click on detail, close the earthquake data box, using the slide bar you can pull up the precise location of the earthquake.
Hybrid is great, shows the terrain and craters.

I've had quakes at this house that were rock and roll, but this was just a sharp jolt, no sway, very short. The others I didn't feel, only the 4.4.

The swarm factor is freakishly different though
