Citrus choices for HPP 250'
#1
We want to plant some tangerines and limes this year, at about 250' in HPP. Does anybody have recommendations for good varieties for here, and where to buy them?

We are in HPP at 275' and have had tremendous success with Tahitian limes and Dancy tangerines, with edible fruit from the very first year. The Tahitian bears steadily year round with an extra peak in January-February, and the Dancy has one heavy bearing period around Christmas into the New Year. Both are available at Plant It Hawaii, but I am not sure if they have already had their fall public sale this year. I believe Rozette's gets their stock from Plant It Hawaii, but the selection and price would more than likely be better at PIH. We fertilize all our citrus three to four times a year and add lime to the soil two to three times a year.

Happy Planting!

Like Jerry, our Tahitian Lime has done good. We're on 6th Ave at about 80' elevation.
Also, polmello, Meyers Lemon, calamansi, and grapefruit are coming along well.
Tangelos do OK.
Valencia oranges have done pitifully.
