Contractors from heaven :) (PW BBB)
#21
My wife and I are looking for a good licensed roofing contractor to install trusses and metal roofing for our HPM Lauhala model. I recently had shoulder surgery and I'm not up for the task for a while. I would prefer someone who has experience with that particular model. Any recommendations?

Dr No(Weatherford) likes to use his PHD status to slander people.

"Plumbing and drainpipe recently did a job for me(whole house, 1bath), and did it well, in line with other bids, quick and clean. Their work passed on first inspection.

Weathford who likes to hire hard labor at 15$ an hour with no benefits, was probably shocked that you had to pay a real wage for a non degreed person. Dr No even used his PHD status to slander those guys(he had removed it for his last post).

Then the time he took bids to machine clear his property for Palm Oil, and decide to do it by hand, any feedback on that? I concede that today a lot of people would jump at that, in those times that was cheap. During that period I belive he bought more land in HPP.

Worse yet, while using his full PHD and all the little 2 letter stars
that say his ag degree was for "finance". he came down on PGV, Ormat, the geothermal plant as they were a greedy mainland corp, coming to Hawaii to get rich. Plus he supported Emily Naeole's grab at the funds, provided by PGV to the residents in the surrounding community as a disaster fund.
Dr No is a competing technology that at time was supposed to replace deisel fuel in HECO's generators in Honolulu as a fuel, a refinery was being planned. Of course Dr no said his deisel was going to be used in tractors for all our small farmers. If PGV had it's way it could provide for all of the Big Island, the existing windmills could stay for use in the new electric auto and truck use.

Dr No is NO Good! (his architect was probably OK too)!

Because he did worse to a legitimate business with no explanation. He touts his degrees from UH to get what he wants, and no one calls him on it.

See "Contractors from Hell" a previous thread where he makes nasty reference to this company, which in tight times could do lasting damage to a company and it's workers. And another one, an archetect I don't know, but knowing Worthington he's probably ok.

gtill,

James Weatherford has the same right to express his views and vote his positions as you do without need of being demonized by other Punaweb members. The fact that your opinions differ from his do not justify a campaign of personal animosity.

Rob, you're saying if a PHD says somthing derogatory about a business which is as good as any, and better than most, I should just sit back and let an Economist with a title savage a lot of good workers, and their company. Especially giving no reason.

As I said before, he uses his credentials, PHD in economics to degrade a working company which is wrong. And by the same method he has slandered our Islands greatest hope of getting an electric break Geothermal and it's developers which would be against his 35,000$ solar investment, and new business which could transform our island into somthing unique, all electric at a reasonable cost, and would have reduced his profit in a UN banned ag adventure.(palm oil)!

gtill,

It would appear James' crime in your eyes is having different opinions than yours. What I'm saying is James Weatherford is entitled to his opinions as are you. Respecting each other shouldn't be too difficult. I could say a few things about the business you mention myself but choose not to. Both you and James, and any others are free to use and present whatever credentials you have. Try not to judge people's motives too much, it is very easy to be wrong.

Hazen from Seaview is recommended by several people on this forum :
"Everyone that I know that's used Hazen raves about him. That's the best endorsement someone can have. I haven't had the reason/opportunity to work with him, but people I trust completely ADORE his work.

I just talked to Bob last week! Wow! Small Puna world!

Kapohocat,
Do you know if Bob Kirk has his license now? I looked on the DCCA site but was not able to locate a license. If he is licensed, do you have his phone number handy? We are compiling a list of contractors to interview for our house construction.
Thank you,
Barbara Taylor
