Hi, Heidi Baker here using my husband's registration.
(Rob, if I've broken blogging laws, please forgive and pardon.)
The past few nights our coquis have been at an absolute minimum. I'm talking two or three solo voices, without the temperature dipping below 58 degrees Farenheit, which seems to be the point when they usually go silent.
Is anyone else out there having the same experience? If so, is it possibly because of the lack of rain, and the hot sun each day?
Thanks so much.

They have been quite quiet here (lower Nanawale) for a couple of weeks. I do not believe the temp has gone below 62-64F. I have also been on an eradication program for the past 6 months, so maybe it has been helping too.

They quite down when the temperature drops below 68F. Warmer tonight than it has been, so there are a few out there making noise.

mine too, and no eradication. I don't think they like the dry spells. When it starts raining they always start up in full chorus.

Thanks for all the good, and quick, responses. Any chance that some of them can't/won't come back? Or are they just hiding from us? We do the regular eradication process, too. But tonight and last night is really quiet.

no, in my experience they're just being quiet. They're not dead, just low key.

I wonder if the dry weather has anything to do with it!???

My guess is they would mate less in dryer weather if moisture is needed for the reproductive cycle. Since the noise is a mating call that would explain less noise.

All good stuff. So, I'll look forward to the return of the rains, but not the noise!
