I remember that the Water Dept. closed the Kapoho/Green Mt. well downhill of PGV, because it was contaminated. I don't remember if it was agricultural chemicals from the papaya farms or geothermal fluids leaching into the substrate or both. Check with the Dept. of Water Supply and ask for the water quality studies for the Kapoho well.

The Dept. of Water Supply had noticed a deterioration in the water quality prior to PGV drilling any wells. In times of low rainfall the salinity in the water was approaching unhealthy levels. In 1990 they proposed a new water line from Pohoiki to Kapoho.

It was approved and built. The well and reservoir at Green Lake was then abandoned.

I have a well here in Vacationland. The water has so much salinity that it can't even be used for irrigation. It has been unusable since long before PGV.

isnt it very important to understand all aspect of whats going on.. and i want to know about the water and how they ensure our water is safe and this is something they cannot ensure. where are all the reports on water dating back to the 70's til now cause we need ..we should demand that we are shown the effects on our water sheds and table.. our water is important because very thing needs it and thrives from it... this is the untold story of why geo thermal should not be here.and why its unhealthy for everthing that it touches...

and you and i all know the reason there are no reports or they don't require the Geo companies to produce any is because there hiding the true danger of what it does to the ground and water below ground and such

All the reports should be on file with the Department of Water Supply.

I get water quality reports with my water bill. They should be on file as a public record. Have you asked them?

Best to go to Water Supply in person. The Engineering Department is the door to the right. That's where I think the info you want will be.
Assume the best and ask questions.
