Does anyone know of a place on Hawaii Island that sells 4 to 5 foot garden statuary? Specificly Buddha's, pagoda's or tiki's. I looked at Makuu marketplace on Sunday but he had nothing that large and Paradise Plants has absolutely nothing. I noticed so many statues in peoples yards...yet I can't seem to find anyplace that sells them on island. And none of the companies on the internet that sell them ship to Hawaii. Any help would be appreciated...

I can't give you an exact location, but there's a place on Opihikao Dr/Kamaili Rd that has a whole bunch of stuff that might interest you. I'm looking at google maps hence the confusion over the name plus it's been over a year since I drove down that way.
If you drive on 130 from Pahoa to Kalapana you'll see a sign for a scenic view after a few miles (steam baths or something similar). About a mile or so after this there is a road on the left (the one I mention above) that'll take you down to the coast but is narrow and you can't drive fast. If you drive down from there after a few miles there's a place on the right that has a bunch of stuff which I've been meaning to photograph for ages. I think the items are for sale but am not certain (so please don't quote me!).
Sorry I can't be more specific, it's been ages since I was last there. Hopefully I've given enough clues to others as to the place I'm talking about. When I last passed by they had stuff for sale but didn't have a close look. If I get some time I might drive there next weekend but can't promise that.

Tom, that road goes by both names or hyphenate the two.
My house came with 3-4 pagodas of that size, lava rock and stacking sections. I wish I knew where they came from. I collect garden statuary, and moving men hate me. It's very expensive here compares to California. Paradise Plants always used to have some pieces, hundreds of dollars though. Surprised they have nothing.

Tom K...I know exactly where you are referring to...I have seen it while driving Opihikao Road...Also there are wooden carving statues that are huge in Kona at the corner near the Coscto turn-off and the Hwy.

Thanks everyone. I will drive down Opihikao Road today and see what/if anything is for sale. I also remember that stand right at the entrance to the new industrial center in Kona that sells statues.... (mostly tiki's) if I remember correctly. And Kathy...Paradise Plants said they have a shipment coming soon...but it's being held up...(probably at customs since they get most of their stuff from Indonesia).

Northwest corner. Those are very nicely done, but I imagine they should be kept inside!

Macuu, thanks for the news on PP, although their prices are such that I can only look.
Sounds like this Opihikao Rd place is one to check out.
Not that I need, I have plenty, but fun to look.

Someone on Konaweb posted about a place in the old industrial area called "Garden Inspirations". They make and sell statuary among other things for the garden. This looks more like what I've been trying to find. They also have a website:

Found one in Waimea also:

Actually Kathy..nothing. They just emailed me and said they no longer make statuary. I finally purchased a 4 foot sitting buddha from Toscano on-line.
