I am still trying to get some moringa starts. Nothing from a cutting has grown for me. Also having a heck of a time finding pepper vines, and a rainbow eucalyptus. I ask every where I go, no luck. Suggestions?
P.S. Bullwinkle how did your moringa do?

Peg, was just thinking about this yesterday!
I have some more branches that are ready for trimming & stripping... would you like to have the leaves, then I can see if I can start the branches for you (usually have luck with them, but that little start I tried was just tooo little & only put out one leaflet then puff!)
If you do want the leaves, drop me an email & we can arrange a tree trimming, leaf stripping time, then I will pot the stems up & see what I can grow for you.

My cuttings don't look well either. I am trying to pinch off any new flowering buds and hope for more new leaves.

Carey, I have your phone number, how soon do you predict you will be wanting to trim? My schedule is for now, only occupied by naps. Peggy

I want to know where I can get
moringa seeds as I was reading about plants and moringa came in my knowledge, deep study reveals that it has lots of characteristics in it for human health.

Jennifer, I have a "mother" moringa that is currently flowering... and if you would like to "try before you buy" or at least try before you plant (the leaves are kinda like spinach & can be used both cooked & raw like a small leafed spinach salad), feel free to stop on by (email through the forum works...we are in "downtown" Keaau, so "on the way" for most of Puna...)
I have had some luck starting from cuttings... & have 4 cuttings I started last month for RP that are not dead (one even has the first leaf buds just starting to appear - it does take a bit for these things to take off, but when they do, they are normally good...) most of the time the tree needs trimming, so no problem trimming some branches if you would like to try rooting a cutting... unlike many plants, from the readings I have done, the branch starts are fairly large & do take some time to root...
I also have a file of links for recipes & moringa plant info if you would like, can send (also think I have posted the links in the past - just search moringa olifera on the forum...)

Yes, do try them! I find their texture very unlike spinach, but have cooked two meals with them, and I liked the flavor. It can be a bit strong, and they take a lot of cooking for the stems to be soft, if you don't pick them off leaflet by leaflet. Worse than shelling peas, but I kind of got into it. I have some frozen, waiting for the stew pot. So Carey, my name is on a start? Yay.
