first two babies born this morning. Wooooooooo
I want to be the kind of woman that, when my feet
hit the floor each morning, the devil says
"Oh Crap, She's up!"

Congratulations! Don't forget I have dibs on a multi-color ewe lamb! Has she been born yet? I can't wait to come up and cuddle.

I am afraid the two born so far are mostly white with colored markings and are both males. I think we probably have another dozen waiting to join us!!! Renee, you are promised first choice.

two more babies with hoofs on the ground. That makes four and a fifth is trying to make its entrance now though mom isn't pushing too hard. We will see. My buddy retired nurse midwife suggests to e that if she were cousin sue at the hospital the doctor would strut in looking important, get a sterile needle and cut the "bag of waters" open anklet it drain. The risk i this is a "dry birth" which can be dangerous to mom and baby. Hopefully nature will take over and we will have another lamb within the house. Keep good thoughts.

Renee.... none to your order yet. We have four with hoofies on the ground. One trying hard to break her bag of waters and another dozen babies probably due. Give us a few weeks and i am thinking mass births.
we have a new buck this year so none of our girls will be related to the boys you may have gotten from me but not to worry anyway. We try to save a few studs to stud out each year so you don't have to put up with having a male all year round if you don't want him. Cooerative living... you all know how I feel about that. You share what you have in abundance.
Anyone wants to come cuddle babies just give me a call next week or in the next 3 weeks 345 8440. I am guessing we will have more babies in the next few weeks. Lots of VERY PREGNANT ewes! LOL

Friday 7/27 Morning....
Last year when we were having the horrible dog attacks one of our sheep was run down the lava tube by the dogs. We found her with a huge bite out of her neck and standing on a tiny ledge where she had apparently been all night. She was shaking, in total distress and only bout a year or so old. Michael, Derek and Benito hauled he up from the tube, to the surface and we named her PUKA because of the horrible wound in her neck. Our Michael cleaned it, closed it and cared for that wound for a very long time. It took a lot of gentle handling to make her not be afraid all the time. Our darling Puka had her first lamb this morning!! A cute little boy with a basicaly white body but black markings distributed here and there. So far she is proving to be a good momma and the baby is running after her happily, nursing well and generally looking good.
I look forward to these mornings when new life blooms....

Home after a day jaunt to Honolulu. Puka and son continue to thrive. No new additions since this morning. Hoping for more hooves on the ground over the weekend...
