Satellite view of vog 2343 UTC, which I think is around noon here. Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure you will).

those types of models are good, but it basically comes down to two things. In the below webcam view - if the plume is going straight up or to the left then it's voggy in Puna, if the plume is going to the right then it's not voggy in Puna.

(and yes, 2343 is 1143 in Hawaii. Hawaii is UTC-10)
