volunteers needed to serve on Action Committee
#1
Within the next two months some of the current members of the Puna CDP Action Committee will reach the end of their terms, and we are seeking volunteers to take their places. Although it is not an absolute requirement, it is recommended that volunteers have lived here for a while so that they are familiar with both upper and lower Puna and are aware of the local issues. You must be available to attend meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 3 to 6 pm at the Kea'au community center, and take the time to read/study all the pre-meeting materials, as well as serve on some sub-committees. But mostly you must have a passion to want to see some ACTION and want to help move the implementation of the plan forward. And it helps a lot if you are the kind of person who can work well with others.

A lot of people grumble and grouse, and expect everyone else to do something about our problems. Here is an opportunity to work for solutions. I throw down the gauntlet.

Applications are available at the Planning Dept. For more info email Larry Brown at lbrown@co.hawaii.hi.us. Mahalo.

The PCDP has long been de-fanged.
Don't waste your time or energy.
Sorry Rene.
You are better off working with Bill Walter.
No joke or sarcasm.
Figure out how to do it you all.

Hmmm...committies, subcommitties...I don't know it just sound too interesting for me. I think I go watch my papaya grow instead, thank you.

Committies and subcommitties put bad taste in my mouth, papayas taste good.

Isn't Puna Planning a contradiction in terms? Seems like the plan is pretty simple. Keep everything exactly the same, except better, and don't change nuttin'.
