Public Support Needed for Punalu`u Preservation
#1
Please send your written support to the county council and/or attend the Public Hearing at Naalehu School Gym (Monday, June 4th at 5:30 pm) for:

Resolution 169-07 The "Keolalani Hanoa Resolution"

Please get active on this. A very, very important Big Island asset needs to be preserved for the benefit of everyone. By protecting Punalu`u we can:

*Create educational, cultural and resource management jobs with good salaries

*Guarantee public access to Punalu`u's black sand beach forever

*Malama our fishing grounds and important Honu habitat

Go to: www.savepunaluu.org

Submit council testimony on Res 169-07 at:

counciltestimony@co.hawaii.hi.us

Email council members directly at:

J. Yosimoto <jyoshimoto@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Emily Naeole <enaeole@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Dominic Yagong <dyagong@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Don Ikeda <dikeda@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Stacy Higa <shiga@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Bob Jacobson <jjaco@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Brenda Ford <bford@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Angel Pilago <kapilago@co.hawaii.hi.us>
Peter Hoffman <phoffmann@co.hawaii.hi.us>

Please, please support our Ka`u neighbors and the intrerests of the whole Big Island ohana.

If you support this please say so here and let our council know too!

Rob,

I was happy to send an email to the council members to urge their support of this very important issue. We made it South to Punalu'u just last weekend and it was just beautiful. The Honu were happy and the black sand sparkles like diamonds! We're so proud to be a part of the future of the Big Island and all it's many treasures. Mahalo.

Thanks Rob, for the fire under my computer chair... Just now I emailed the council and "submitted testimony". Ka'u is a special place and I'd hate to see it's wonderful gems ruined.

I'll definitely support it.
I already try to inform visitors to tripadvisor who are considering Sea Mountain that the local people do not welcome development there. People don't like to hear there are places the tourist dollars aren't welcome -- but come on, sometimes you can leave ONE PLACE to the people.

Thank you all. I would like to encourage more networking on this issue. I can provide a prepared email on the subject if any of you would be willing to email your friends and associates.

Mahalo!

Just wanted to share that I received an email response from one of the council members. Not bad 1 out of nine! Guess whose name I will remember and look into in the future when an election comes up!
