Do you have Internet? If so you can watch your shows there. I watch all my shows on either my iPad or iMac...and you can too!

By 'big antenna', do you mean an over-the-air reception antenna?

I don't think there's any cheaper way except, as Beachboy said, to watch free alternatives on your already-existing broadband, if you have that.

There are indoor "leaf" antennas, but they probably would not be too effective in most parts of Puna.

Amplified HD antenna from Walmart ($45, looks like an old-style VHS tape).

Mount on a 20' top rail from your local chain-link fencing supply.

It helps to use RG-6 ("satellite" type) coax for the lead-in; pass through a grounding block where it enters the house.

Amazon Prime has a bunch of free online video as well - hulu good as well and winamp/shoutcast for your audio needs. Tried netflix streaming - poor variety imho

I found a website that I can watch just about any show I can think of. That includes new or old. I mean I can watch season #1 of ***M.A.S.H.*** in it's entirety if I wish. I can Watch Rod Serling's Night Gallery, or a show as new as NASHVILLE. The sky is the limit if you let your fingers do the walking..
