Tea Party invented/orchestrated by Koch brothers
#1
This is relevant to Puna since there is an obvious effort to establish a Tea Party presence here. A new study has come out and found the Tea Party was invented by the Koch brothers and the tobacco industry, starting in 2002, rather than being a "spontaneous uprising by the people". The Koch brothers are also the ones that donated almost half a billion dollars to the Romney campaign, causing the presidential election to go over $1 Billion. In essence, they tried to buy the presidency. This, and several other abhorrent ethical behaviors, are what make the Tea Party so repugnant. There are also connections appearing between the Tea Party and the Occupy movement. The Occupy movement is basically being used as a smoke screen by the Tea Party.

Koch Brothers Founded The Tea Party… In 2002

Don't be a sap, sucker, serf and pawn for these people. They are using you to further their own greedy goals, all the while trying to use a hypocritical hatred of greed as their Guy Fawkes mask.

All US politics is a smokescreen; most "grassroots" organizations are really astroturf... and, oh, wait, it's time for American Idol!

excellent post ted,

this goes along with the great recycling sham - did you know products made of recycled materials are more toxic to the environment than their conventional counterparts? apparently all the processing required to make recycled materials 'whole' (for lack of a better term) again is much more toxic to the environment than just using the conventional products.

another would be "goodwill industries" how exactly does a company labeled "not for profit" rake in a 2 million dollar profit and pay certain employees over 6 figure salaries??

its amazing how people will prey upon your ignorance

edited to add: in a way its quite admirable getting a huge group of people to:

1. bring you their waste on their own dime (recycling)
2. process it back into usable material
3. convince everyone the material is "better" (healthier/better for environment/ etc.) and then charge more for it than conventional materials

....capitalism is interesting if cruel...

How is this relevant to Puna? What are these efforts to create a Tea Party presence here?

This is not Puna related and a bunch of Bull **** anyways. The Tea Party is not one group or a top down organization. The Tea Party movement you see today was started by Ron Paul supporters on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on Dec 16th 2007.

copy and paste the whole url, the message board splits it up:

Thats the day we set the record for the largest political fundraising day ever of over 6 Million dollars for Ron Pauls presidential campaign, made up of small donations averaging under $100. I am sorry the founding documents of this country and its history scare you so bad.

I'm not seeing the relevance either. Please bring it into focus or we'll lose it.

This is Bull **** Rob. If I had posted a similar thread it would have been deleted instantly. Your bias is showing.

There may be a "Tea Party" connection on the Big Island.
We may have seen it last year. For quite some time of upset and agitation.[:0][Wink]
