I have continued to become stronger and stronger. The greenhouse news a lot of work ut if anyone wants to help you are welcome and can share in the bounty. We had a pretty successful greenhouse before I became ill. It is about 30 x 40 get with raised ds in half. It news some tables built. I bought the supplies but have a little trouble lifting. Huy promises to try t help this weekend but many of you know he has some extreme limits too. This getting old thing coupled with complicated diseases is a drag!
The good news is I seem to have th cows, sheep and chickens managed. I am getting around 15 chick eggs and one or tw duck eggs a day. Wooo hoooo. Have found a lady who wants the duck eggs fresh and is going to try to hatch them. Could mean more pekin ducks here. I told her no charge for the eggs but if they hatch I wat one girl. /wheeeeeeeeee
Noot an extree plea for help here.... we will get her done. I am so very much stronger it is amazing. I am driving too. But if anyone is in the Glnwood Mt. View or Volcano ara and wants to learn abou greenhouse growing it's here for you. I know I am not strong enough for the outside garden but if anyone is so disosed, I sure have the right fenced in area for it... . /so goes my life... Imagine what I can accomplish by next summer considering where I was last summer. Life is good.

Today hubby joined me to water, feed, transplant some lettuce and begin to go through the mess to decide what to drag to the yard to plant and what to toss. It will take 10 more bags of soil/compost to get it all in order so I am dragging him to home depot. I am not sure how we will get it all out but we wil!. another day, anther task conquered. Oh, and the chickens are laying aroun 15 to 18 eggs a day, they are all selling out although I did use a few in the ricotta for my laagna last night. Yum! Nibbled little stuff from the garden but my asparagus do seem to be starting to produce. I got some that were 18 inches tall and no woody bottoms Ate two of them in the greenhouse raw for lunch. Life is good with a greenhouse.... I imagine this all sounds silly to you but I am so thrilled to be able to DO something.... even though I get tired after half an hour and have to sit. Then I start again. One baby step forward at a time. /wooo hoooo.

Hubby got a REAL greenhouse indoctrination. We bought and mved 12 bags of soil and amendment to fill out the empty or "dust" dried out raised beds, dug them all out amd nixd everything. . He has learned the "joy" of getting your hands into an amendment filled with manure and other nutrients. W are both limited in lifting but get this.... I DROVE THE BI TRACTOR TODAY and used it to shift the bags from his truck to the greenhouse. Once up on a few raised beds it wasn't quite so hard to get to a shoulder one bag at a time. Have a few mor to go as we petered out after about 90 minutes but I figure that is a great start. It was wonderful to have his help. He has never been involved in the greenhouse.. There is still a TON of clean-up to do for grass and weeds growig through the floor and the hot house needs to be cleared out 75% and new plants started... mostly tomatoes and cucumbers. Still, I am very excited.... okay nd very very tired. Glad we have leftover lasagna for dinner. Hauled out a 50 gallon bag of trash and there are quite a few more to go. still.... it's great progress. Anyone wants to come see it in full bloom, wait four to six months. Yay!

It is all veryr slow oing as I can not squat nor keep my head below my knees for muh of any time. However I have got all that soil in place... well most of it... and a few trays of starts put in this last week. First off, tomato's are sprouting up. That will give me a GREAT project fr the hot house side. I have some asparagus coming up.... the plant had this large ferny top and I just chopped it to the ground. It put out two to three feet of fern again and a few asparagus have come up. I munch them right in the garden... they are so good fresh! So ery much to do but lettuce is growing, hoping for curucmbers, bell peppers and other stuff.... wooo hoooo!!

Thanks for the updates. I enjoy reading them. After you've been really sick for a while, just to take a walk or be able to garden is a treat! I hope you keep feeling better!

I am so happy to learn how much function you have regained, and how you are keeping your spirits positive. That makes such a difference in the healing process... I know that you will continue to improve. Just a word of caution based on personal experience: please don't push it. Pace yourself. Take more frequent rest breaks. The chores won't go away - they will still be there when you're ready.
Down the line, I would be interested in adopting a pair of Pekin ducks. My Buff Orpingtons are succumbing to old age, and Pekins were always my favorite.

Thank you Renee..... I assure you I rest more than work... much more. Each job is a little bite. there is so much would like to do but my body won't and I know that slow steady efforts are my only choice.
As for Pekin ducks... females are very gard to come by. I have a lady incubating a batch of eggs from me but I have my doubts as to whether they are fertile... still we can hope..... Thank you Renee and everyone for your good thoughts and encouragement.
