Saddle Road Update
#1
Grace Pacific should start paving the Saddle Road 6(7) phase next week, if the CFLHD approves their asphalt mix design. They were supposed to start work in early April, but were waiting for a EPA permit.

Goodfellow has completed the abutments for the GRS-IBS overpass. They're working on the support posts and should start constructing the deck soon.

The overall project is going well-except for the utility relocation by m.m 41.67. HELCO and the HDOT haven't executed the utility relocation agreement yet.

The utility relocation agreement was almost executed, but the State Attorney General's office made a slight change to the agreement language, which required the CFLHD to review the agreement again. They resubmitted it back to the State AG's office and HDOT. HDOT is reviewing the agreement again.

The project is supposed to be completed by September, so the clock is ticking to complete the relocation and construct the 3,700 feet of new roadway in this area.

They're building an overpass? Is that at the intersection with Hwy 190?

The overpass I referenced is near m.m 41 on the mauka side of the project. There is a access trail to the old Parker Ranch lands that will go underneath the overpass.

There is a possibility the state may include a grade seperation overpass at the new intersection of Saddle Road and Mamalahoa Highway when they construct the Saddle Road Extension 4 years from now.

On it Saturday following a pickup truck going at a pretty good clip(couldn't stay on the road, BTW), but I kept up with him (and I DID stay on the road).
