Home Depot House Package
#1
Was wondering if anyone submitted plans to Home Depot for a house package? I know when I lived in Florida. A couple of home owner’s that pulled their own permits went with Home Depot. They take a set of plans for a few days and draw up some packages for a complete house. Anyone use the Hilo store for this?

I’m thinking about going this route. Since, I’ll be pulling my own permit. I’m going to have license subcontractors do require work. Thanks for any info and help.

Home Depot approached my company, Castleblock, about doing home packages a few years back. They wanted a non wood package. Honolulu okayed it, West Coast okayed it.... then it got lost in the bowels of HQ in Atlanta and I gave up after several months. Every time I had a meeting scheduled there was a new face at the desk. Turnover at their HQ is fierce.

Oh well.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Thanks Obie and Rob. I'll give Argus a visit and pan them out. Sorry, to hear Home Depot gave you the run around. I'm flying over in Oct and lining allot of stuff up and trying to get as much as I can get done. Just trying to do a package deal and be done with it. I'll check out Argus and see what they have to say.

Anyone have anyone they use for wooden cabinets? Non, of that press board junk.

Thanks,
Steve

Might take them to HPM also, I've found their quality and prices beat HD at time. They also do a military discount same as HD and Lowes, a Senior discount, Thursdays I think.

Thanks David, sorry I don't know who HPD is? Didn't even think to ask about military discount. I'll have to check on that one. Who is this HPM? Thanks again everyone

HPM, used to be Hawaii Planing Mill, a primary lumber place on island before HD and Lowes. Local company, employee owned. Located, Hilo, Waimea, and Kona.

As long as you're looking at the package homes check out the castleblock homes they make kits like hpm, argus, etc

But they are designed for living in Hawaii and use materials other than lumber = termite food

Anyways I know somebody knows way more about them than I do!
(Just my 2 cents I'd get a castleblock over a stick frame - lumber house - any day )
