Terrible Commercial
#1
Hello all,

I don't have a TV at home, but we have one here at the remote camp I work out of. I saw this Commercial and immediately felt like a needed a shower.

Kinda tastes like discrimination to me....

I don't see whats to get worked up about. Just a crappy commercial that might actually be better than what they usually put out, amazingly enough.

Can anyone show any commercial made here in Hawaii - for Hawaiian audiences - that is not terrible?

The cross dressing cab driver one has to take the cake!

lol, the local commercials are terrible for sure.

I think the cross-dressing cab driver is the best, maybe like being the tallest midget? At least the guy makes me laugh, and I can't get that damn phone number out of my head! :-o

Well, I will give it to you that It may be not as bad as I originally thought. At least they appear to be Native Hawaiians. Growing up near a Reservation and spending the last 8 years here in Alaska; I tend to have a knee jerk to jokes made at towards Native Americans.

Everybody looks Hawaiian except the Chief, he looks and sounds to me like James Earl Jones. The "cross dresser" in the cab ad is Frank DeLima, a well known local comedian who's been cross dressing a long time.

That "cross dressing cab driver" is rather famous in Hawaii.

"Frank personifies Hawaii's diverse ethnicities and cultures. His ethnic background, which is self-described as "veritable Portuguese Soup" and "Chop Suey Nation," consists of Portuguese, Hawaiian, Irish, Chinese, English, Spanish, and Scottish. He celebrates, not disregards, ethnic differences and integrates them into his comedic routines."

So much so that he's been paid tribute (or perhaps parody?) by the Wholesale Mattress guy; the "queen" version of the commercial is gone now, wish I had a copy.
