Does anyone know where a woman was attacked by a dog in HPP yesterday? I heard she was attacked while walking, and the dog almost tore her arm off. She was getting emergency surgery last night.

That is scary. I better call some of my HPP friends I haven't talked to and see if they are all okay.

Where did you hear this? Strange that it isn't being reported anywhere, if true.

Heard it on the scanner yesterday..
If I remember right, I think it was on 26th

The 26th and Shower area is close to where the runner who used to write for the paper about running was attacked, the dog owner was pretty unconcerned, so I wonder if it was his dogs again.

How awful. I walk every morning in HPP. I have pepper spray just bc of mean-ass dogs. I always wonder if I;d have the time to get the spray out - I think I'm going to hang it around my neck on a lanyard. Two dogs attacked a friend's dogs down at end of Maku'u, so I've carried the spray since. I hope this woman heals quickly. What an awful thing to go through.

When I lived in Puna I walked/ran with a what my Irish Grandpa called a "dog stick," it's a shillelagh with the top knot hollowed out and filled with lead. Will crush any dogs skull with one good swing.
Sounds dark, but my Grandpa killed 2 rabid, feral dogs with it years ago. AKpilot We're all here, because we're not all there!

To me she might feel at home with the humidity replacing fog! Kidding aside, the acidity thing is more my worry. Hope you have a garage, if not, I thinks a "man cave" of some sorts is on the list to put her in with all the stuff that is suddenly "prohibited" inside the house! Again, no poke at you, just something boulder head here found out when I got married. There's a guy in Kauai who zips around once and a while in an Isetta, has kept her in great shape over the years garaged.
