FYI: This is a great opportunity for high school students in Puna who are interested in agriculture
The Kohala Center is offering a special two-week paid internship for high school students and recent graduates of Pahoa and surrounding areas. This K#363; I Ka M#257;na High School Agriculture Internship will run July 14-25, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm (we will pick-up and drop-off students each day at the Pahoa Community Center).
The goal of our internship is to expose young students to the opportunities that exist on the island and to spark interest in pursuing the training and education necessary for success in a field related to agriculture. From our past two internships we found that tours of farms and hands-on activities receive the best response from the students, so that is the structure that we follow; talking to local experts and visiting interesting sites around the island.
This is a paid internship, upon completion of the program, students will receive a $250 stipend. Spaces are limited, encourage your students to sign-up now.
For additional questions, please contact Derrick Kiyabu at 808-220-2312

Applications are due by July 9th.
