My Mom Was My Everything!
#1
My mother was everything to us. She sadly left us on July 24 2014. She suffered for years with ongoing emphysema, COPD, kidney failure and heart problems. No matter how sick she was, she was always happy and in good spirits. Nothing could get her down. My mom loved hard and nothing could change that. She would do the world for me and my brother and sisters. My dad and her have been together for more than 30 years and they loved each other with everything that had. She was the best! She fought hard to breathe every single day just to see her grand-kids and to make sure each of us would be okay. Her passing was expected but came to fast and hit us all so very hard. She was a genuine soul and deserved the best. Due to financial hardships, my family and I humbly ask for your help in laying her to rest and sending her to heaven where she has most definitely earned her place. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so very much for your help.

I am very very sorry, Shoresresident. [Sad] Your mother sounds remarkable.

Having recently lost my beloved father, also too fast and hard to handle it when it hit, I now understand the acute pain of losing a much loved parent. It didn't and doesn't help me feel better about it that he is out of pain now. He wanted to live for his family, like your mother did.

I guess the way I am dealing with it is saying, well, I don't think it's better now, and it's OK to feel the loss as rough as it really is. But it was going to happen some time. And now it is, and we can't change that. We can only remember and honor the memory, and try to move on with a giant hole in our world.

I understand your wish to fund her laying to rest. I sadly couldn't even afford to publish an obituary for my father. It is tough to not be able to do what you would like for your loved one. Best of luck and support to your family.

Aloha, Shoresresident. My heart is heavy for you.

Those of us who experienced the loss of a parent, in my case, my Daddy (over 30 years ago; feels like yesterday), will never leave another behind. Time does not heal all wounds, as they say. KathyH said it well ("giant hole in our world"); we move on with the hole in our soul. We must.

Please remember to eat, drink lots of water, rest your body, and all those essentials needed for dealing with the days to come. There are no words anyone can say to ease the pain of initial loss of your Mom. Just know, you are not alone.

May you and your family find peace, strength, and kindness as you go through the coming days, weeks, months, and years. You have now been elevated to "kupuna" (elder) status in your family, as our culture dictates. Lead by example, and continue your Mom's legacy. She will be proud.

I leave you with this, and my thoughts and prayers for the duration.

Aunty Emma DeFries, a Kahunanui in our ohana, wrote this for our loved ones who have passed onto the next life. We all wait for the time when we all see each other again, if it should be.

Divine energy surround you at this time. My sincere condolences.

I'd enjoy reading more about this amazing woman. I didn't see the obituary in the paper and you didn't mention her name. Trust..but verify.
