Have you ever had Poi Balls?

I have to admit I had never heard of a poi ball and not being a big poi fan I was thinking they'd be gross, but boy was I wrong! We were at the Tahitian Festival in Hilo last week and they were selling them, and giving out samples. One taste and I was hooked! We gobbled up a dozen and went back for more. Is this a common item in Hawaii? Or is it special occasion food? Yuuuummmmeeeee!!

I grew up here with poi and poi balls, its a common food here in the islands.
