#1
DLNR posted signs that Shipman paths are closed due to safety. They closed the gate to parking lot at end of Beach.
Signs posted end of Beach and end of Paradise Ala Kai.

The hurricane was last month!! If they let people ride motorsickles with no helmet and ride in the back of trucks going 55mph, then they can let me walk a trail with some tangled branches....

I'll check tomorrow morning if I remember. The parking lot at the end of Beach has been open for weeks as far as I know, even heard the usual late night bass from there the other night.

If you ignore the the high frequency stuff in that video and listen only to the bass, then yes, that's pretty much it! There's a guy who parks his beat-up car once a week on the road outside our office (but only when college is in session) and plays that stuff at top volume while still in the car. We have sound-proofing and double-glazing but you still hear it in my office, which is at the opposite side of the building from his car. It almost makes the furniture rattle. God knows what it's doing to his ears. It's one case when you know karma will really happen.

I think they're singing "kill your ear" but it's a little difficult to tell and I was distracted by the girl in the car.

The closing was announced a couple of weeks ago: http://bigislandnow.com/2014/08/21/state...ing-trail/

I have tried the trail - it is a lot worse then a few tangled trees and the coast version is now missing the trees and such you need to go that way safely.
