helco bill

Has any one got your helco bill for last month I was without electric for 5 days and the bill said I used more electric than I did the month before. Try looking at bill does Helco read meter every month or do they average till they read. I will be looking at meter and calling Helco on Thursday.

[Hawaii Bound]

We were without electricity for two weeks and our bill was the same as the previous month. HOWEVER, HELCO did include a letter stating that they did not read the meter and just based in on the previous months bill. They also stated that we had the option to pay that bill or to wait until the next billing statement to get a true reading.

Hawaii Bound is correct.

Due to the Tropical Storm Iselle, all meter readers were out doing different duties to restore electricity to customers, thus the estimation of bills.
