Hawaii Island anti-vaccination policies
#1
I keep seeing the subject of past elections and anti-vaccination policies being proposed by RJ Hampton and Sativa. They are both active on other threads yet never seem to respond to posts about those anti-vaccination policies. Therefore, I hope this one will give them a chance to explain those past proposals without detracting from the other threads they are posting in.

I've served, the ball is now in your court, RJ and Sativa.

You are baiting Tom!
It is up to the individual to research/educate themselves on the pros and cons of immunizations and evaluating those risks should be their decision!

I hope they do not respond to this post, there are far more pressing issues which will affect the Puna area and people's lives. This vaccination discussion should be another time!

I think "engaging" would be a better word than baiting. This is an important issue and should be discussed.

If RJ and Sativa had not moved the vaccine debate into the public realm this would not be a legitimate public discussion. But they did.

snorkle I agree "engaging" is a better word, and this is an important issue and should be discussed. I just felt this is not the time, I have friends freaking out because of the lava.
One lost her house in Royal Gardens and the area where she moved to, is now in the potential path of this lava flow, she has critters, no money and nowhere to go.

Not sure I can discern what your friends have to do with this topic.

They don't, but I think this post was brought up at this time to further discredit RJ and Sativa about their beliefs. If you can't shut people up one way, distract with another topic!

From what I have seen R.J. and Sativa can't be shut up by anyone on any subject.

They have been rather silent about their anti vaccination efforts in the past... and it was that effort of theirs, amongst some others, which cause me to be extremely skeptical of R.J.'s and Sativa's causes. They have at times shown a profound lack of judgement. A demonstrated lack of judgement that plays on hysteria and has potential to kill or cripple children.

So my basic approach to them both is caveat emptor.

Assume the best and ask questions.

There's quite a bit online from the time it all happened. Keep in mind that Councilwoman Emily Naeole was supposed to be directing any propositions written up by her legislative aide, RJ.

I ran a search that I think is bias neutral just to pick up stories on the topic using the keywords "Naeole Hampton vaccination legislation" -- and this link will show you the results if you want to do some reading.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=naeole+vaccination+legislation+hampton&gbv=2&oq=naeole+vaccination+legislation+hampton&gs_l=heirloom-hp.3...6472.14648.0.15085.38.9.0.29.1.0.222.1377.0j5j2.7.0....0...1ac.1.34.heirloom-hp..31.7.1207.dcnCgedetaU

No doubt RJ and Sativa can and will deliver the front and back story, but I haven't seen them post today so they might be busy and offline. The search results are just to take you back to the time it happened and how it was treated in the media back then.

Even better, the actual resolution is available online, and it might be good to read what exactly was passed before discussing the subject.

Yeah, Interesting read. Take note of the comments by Dr. Len Horowitz. R.J. and Sativa were living at his property (Steam Vent Inn) back in those days. Horowitz sells an "alternative" to vaccines at a price of about $40 per glass of water. It is a multi-level marketing scheme and I would be very interested in knowing if, for a fact, that R.J., Sativa and /or Emily were part of that MLM marketing plan. Did R.J. or Sativa ever sell Horowitz' miracle water (Oxysilver)? Yes or no?

Here's a link to a few of Horowtiz' sites. It is an eyeful:

http://www.waronwethepeople.com/ebolagate/
http://www.tetrahedron.org/

This site is where the good doctor reviews himself (it's pretty funny):
http://www.528revolution.com/dr-leonard-horowitz/

And here another site reviews the good doctor:
http://www.skepdic.com/horowitz.html

The Steam Vent Inn connection also gets interesting when you take a look at Emily's bill for the County to acquire and preserve the actual steam vent which was adjacent to Horowtiz' Steam Vent Inn. A bill that failed and had the appearance of seeking taxpayer money to augment R.J.s, Sativa's and Horowitz' business interests. I do understand that they have since fallen out and are no longer walking the same path so to speak.... but when R.J. and Sativa go on the warpath with their moral superiority I remember these things and am highly suspicious.
Assume the best and ask questions.
