What calms you in this time.
#1
I got to thinking what other people are doing to help calm themselves and I thought I would share what helped calm me this morning in this stressful time. Enjoy with your eyes closed, stopping all crazy thoughts for a moment while listening.
Care to share what helps you? It may help another.

Edited to add care to share part

Hanging out with close friends/family.
The sound of the breeze, birds, and the waves nearby with a cup of coffee in the morning.
The sound of the breeze, birds, and the waves nearby with a glass of wine in the evening.
Listening to or playing instrumental music.
Paint.
But mostly gardening.

Mahalo for this thread, Tink.

First, the kupuna who guide and lead us.

The keiki, with the light in their eyes.

All of you in our community, and here (Punaweb) who share life experiences.

The simple "tings" (ie. sardines (blue can one) and sour poi, maui onion with salt on the side, and chili peppa wata).

I'm listening to nahenahe (calm & soothing) Hawaiian music, before the hale becomes Grand Central Station again tonight. [xx(] (that's a "good tired" face....lol).

This is what we sang with the keiki last night before resting.

"Ahi Wela" ("Ahi" = Fire/Light - "Wela" = Hot/Heat)

Join me, will you? [Smile]

*watching the sun rise. It's different every day. Calming & energizing at the same time. (With good Ka'u coffee)!
*swimming laps at the Pahoa pool (for as long as possible). Meditation for body and mind.
*Read a good book. It helps to get me out of my own head.
and my favorite:
*Helping others (picking up hitch-hikers, asking people who look stressed how THEY are doing, smiling at strangers, etc)

Then there is Johnd's way. I guess sniping at & feeling superior to others works for him.
