Found small black cat in Waa Waa
#1
Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is missing their pet. I found a small black cat on my property. She was skinny and starving. The vet thought she was about a year old. She had already been spayed but had no micro chip or collar. She's friendly around people and gentle (doesn't scratch you when you pick her up). If you know anything about her please call 896-3392.

Thank you!

When a cat comes to your place in Wa'a Wa'a, it most llikely needs a home.
Welcome your new pet.

It is wonderful to give a good home to a cat who is clearly domestic and won't do well in the wild. I can't help thinking though that some owner is worried and sad, not knowing her fate. Too bad that cats lose their collars all the time when they spend time in the bushes. I gave up on name tags after umpteen custom engraved tags had been lost in the jungle. [Sad]

The fact this cat is spayed is why I think she would be missed. Someone cared enough to do this. Perhaps she got scared and ran away and got lost. Is there any place in your area where people would see flyers? Or post flyers? Just a thought.

I am currently owned by a cat who showed up with the same MO of starving but friendly about 11 years ago. Was a wonderful addition I never looked for. But she was not spayed, and was obviously abandoned at the transfer station, so I did not worry about anyone wanting her back. Once I had spayed her and welcomed her, I would have been very upset if she strayed.

Cats who are born here of course don't have chips until the owner takes them in to the HS, so lack of chip makes it hard to locate owner but doesn't rule out a loving owner. I didn't do that for quite a while (now I know better and I would). I got all the shots along with spaying, and it was an investment, perhaps the same for this lost owner.

You are kind to try to reunite her. Good luck. [Smile]
