good hair cutter for LONG hair?

I have a friend who just moved here from Thailand and is looking for a "safe" place to get her very, very long hair trimmed. She said last time she got her hair trimmed in the United States they took over 18 inches off, when she asked for a trim. She is hoping that there are hair cutters here who understand that someone whose hair goes past their butt doesn't want it up to their shoulders when they walk out.

I told her I would ask Punaweb: anyone here with what I call "hula hair" who knows a hair cutter who knows when to stop? She will go anywhere on this side of the Island.

I recommend Sandra at Keaau Supercuts. She's very well educated, I think from the Vidal Sasoon school, a little older, 50's, mature and super sweet, listens well and does exactly what you ask of her. She prefers to err on the side of caution and was concerned not to trim too much length off my hair. And the cut was excellent.
