Say you only have a $100.00 Maui cruiser to get around Puna, and your afraid it won't make it to Hilo. Yet you need food for your household. You have two places to choose from, 'Malamalama Grocery Store' in Pahoa, or 'Puna Fresh Foods' in Keaau. I know they are both expensive compared to Hilo's Grocery stores.
The truth of the matter is I'm lazy today and my 2 yr old in under the weather, so I don't wanna go to far. Especially if it keeps pouring cats & dogs

I'd like to set up a "Hilo Run" carpooling group. I keep forgetting to put it out there as an idea & this post finally 'reminded me into action"
I'm thinking something like "hey I'm going to KTA and Longs on Tuesday, 9am - 11am, 3 seats available" & folks can email to join you & chip in for gas. I make alot of solo trips into Hilo & seems a waste to not take others who need to go.

How about parking at the Makuu Market? Wonder if someone could get permission?
Cars parked out at the Market all day without being watched? Are you joking me? Be broke into so fast. But Wiki wiki?, Blane's? descrete? plenty traffic, well lighted at night?
Be not as safe if you were to get back, "late". after dark? good idea though. I take my flatbed to get a few hundred pounds of dog food once a month. So maybe if HPP folks were needing bags or bales from mirranda? no since wasting gas on a half load.
