Fern Forest and Eden Roc Volunteer Fire Dept.
#1
5 Company Charlie is the Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) for Fern Forest subdivision and Eden Roc, we are in need of volunteers, especially for Eden Roc since all our volunteers live in Fern Forest. The volunteer fire fighters meetings/training happen on the fourth, not the last, but the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at Cooper Center in Volcano. We train with other volunteer fire fighter departments since all the volunteer fire fire departments go out on all calls in the area, that includes multiple subdivisions. Please show support for our VFD, we need bodies. This VFD helps us maintain safety in our community and prevents us from loosing our fire insurance. It is super important to save lives and property where we can, so please show your support.

If you live in Fern Forest and need a ride to the monthly meetings,
call Thunderfoot at the Native American Center 968-1111.

Note :There are three consecutive fire fighter meetings that you must attend before you are considered an official VFD member and then the County pays for your physical and equipment. Plus, if you get hurt being a volunteer fire fighter, the County covers you under their insurance. So, it is well worth it to join and help our communities be safer.

Thunderfoot: I'll be a snowbird (due to immigration rules) in a few years. Is it possible to join for half a year at a time?

Just call me Mike
Me ka ha`aha`a,
Mike

I do not see why you couldn't do it for half the year. We really need volunteers badly Smile

Sounds like a great way to get involved in the community. I have somewhere between 3 and 5 years to go before I can retire (I'd jokingly refer to it as 3-5 years left on my sentence, but not everyone would get the joke!)

Just call me Mike
Me ka ha`aha`a,
Mike

Latest BS : The VFD website has been removed because evidently there are people out there that do not want the VFD. That is beyond stupid if you ask me.
