I'm looking for an old-style satellite TV dish antenna. Not the smaller, newer ones but the old big ones. Does not need to be functional, just in one piece. I'll drag it off or if in good condition maybe we can make a deal.

I've wanted one of these for a while...
Note that the mesh on older C-band dishes is too large for Ka or Ku bands, so if you're planning general-purpose DX you will need a solid dish; for this location you might also want something bigger than 2m.
Then, just replace the feed horn with a multi-band multi-orientation unit (the good ones will do 8 bands/polarities)...
Ka Ku bands... Whoa.
I'm going to line it with bathroom mirror tile and use it to drive a coffee roaster...

Something like this might be easier to obtain...

The solid ones also make good rain catchers for a livestock rain barrel.

I have a 1 meter metal dish, is that what you're looking for? New in box, but haven't looked at in in years. Think I paid about $50 for it.

Corrugated roof panels - or really any metal roofing should also work well. (FYI).

I saw one of the huge old dishes used as a gazebo roof. They just added a Mexican palapas cover.

If you can't find the old style 4 foot or so metal lath covered dish for your project, consider the extra labor to build a rebar and metal lath replica using the old standard Papa-San chair design using automotive stainless hose clamps instead of tie wire.
You can use a catchment tank as your arc mandrel as an example, but be sure to put plywood "shims" along your bend route to prevent the galvanizing on the tank from getting scratched by the rebar. 1/2 inch electrical conduit bender also improvises, but have to make an arc by "nudging", or little bends spaced out uniformly to create the desired arc.
Zip tie the metal lath and clay blob "tack" your mirror pieces to adjust mirror perpendicular to focal point , then epoxy grout backfill to lock them into the lath, one row at a time for "quality control".
Hope it works out, I gather it will be steam driven?
OT, are you the one that runs a roaster with an old Dodge Power Wagon?
