Puna Attack: Report of Two Men Wearing Masks Entered HPP Home and Assaulted a Man
Hawaii Island police are investigating an incident Wednesday evening in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision in Puna.
In response to an 8:25 p.m. call, officers received a report that two men wearing masks had gone to a home on 23rd Avenue and assaulted a 64-year-old man. The men then reportedly fled the area in a white pickup truck described as possibly a Nissan or Datsun.
One suspect was described as about 5-foot-10 and about 180 pounds. The other was described as about 5-foot-6 and between 120 and 130 pounds. Both were described as being dressed in black with their faces obscured.
Police ask anyone with information about this case or the possible identity of the suspects to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

pretty vague report. Was the man injured? What was the motive? Robbery? Did he fight back? Is that why they fled? Anything taken?
Punks keep it up and somebody's gonna get shot.
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

It does seem that violence is excalating. The captain cook man possibly murdered for his truck, the lady down in kapoho etc, and the 'punishment' is getting less and less, the latest example was the carjacking by knifepoint from a woman on probation, and her sentence? More probation, I think the police are pretty frustrated, even when the catch them, the judges just slap their hands. In orchid land yesterday the thieves were in a rental car, wearing gloves. In the car were binoculars bolt cutters, battery saws all , other metal cutters but no stolen property ( yet)' so they had to let them go..frustrating for the neighbors who caught them

Almost seems like some organized effort to scare people . The reason I say that, is that for the last month maybe two , the Opihikao, Kalapana , Kapoho areas have been hard hit by thievery and thugerry A report of an entire solar systems stolen, a man's work truck at Kalapana with much inside stolen . In my area ( lower Opihikaoi), men with guns late at night yelling , using foul language , and in the papaya fields adjacent to my Hui firing into the night many shots, (not the generally one or two shots of a hunter), but some yahoo's . Also they like to drive around late at night or early in the morning hours making tons of noise ,
It seems to me that the purpose is to generate fear , so as to weaken the community, which is pretty much unified in many important ways , ( Anti - GMO'S , anti PGV).
I am speaking here of neighbors in my immediate vicinity , as I know their are others in the area that support these things.
Currently , things have settled down a bit , but people in my Area are edgy and taking precautions .

I've read this post over and over again because I couldn't believe what I read first time round. I still don't get it, but wonder if Bob has called the police because he seems to be surrounded by neighbors and people in the vicinity that go around shooting their guns and robbing people and they support this behavior. Surely he must know one or two of them and could inform the authorities?
(No, I'm not getting into a debate about stealing solar systems, that'll just get too crazy).

Kapoho was a domestic situation with someone who is schizophrenic- nothing more.

Very relieved, Aaron...not that Tom can't take care of himself, but I was worried anyway!

In relation to all of this however, is the very real existence of property crimes and people who don't give a F. about other people. Mainly due to drugs.
Is it time to put the pressure on our legislators to give more protections to the homeowners? In other words, give legal gun owners a real chance to really protect their homes, family, and property. Greggor, Russell, Danny, Joy.....what's your answer to the crime problem?
Not a free pass to just shoot anyone. But a level of protection that covers a home owner in the event a foolish drug addict chooses to enter a property and rip them off. KAPOW! And that will be all folks! Especially in the rural areas where we know of the relative ineffectiveness of neighborhood watches and police patrols.

3, 2, 1... cue 45 pages of vicious 2nd amendment debate, complete with ugly name calling and random trolls from other places who track gun debates and will join Punaweb just to throw gasoline on the fire.
