Amazon prime Hawaii sweet gravy train ending?
#1
Amazon is testing a new program called Ship by Region, which will allow some merchants to choose how far their items will ship with Amazon Prime

Yep, so the Non- Amazon merchants will be able to expressly deny any shipping to Hawaii, forcing us to buy only those products that are shipped AND sold by Amazon!

I don't have prime, but there are already a lot of sellers that won't either 1.ship to Hawaii, and/or ship to a PO box.

So stooped/ignorant (IMO) >>> Who is advising them ? It's like they never even clicked on USPS website to check pricing.

o.k. rant over ...

Not shipping to a PO box I can understand. Most merchants use Fedex or UPS, who cannot deliver to a post office box.
Merchants get their shipping discounts based upon volume, so adding a third shipper doesn't help them any.

Why is it Amazon's fault that you chose to live in the country?

Most merchants use Fedex or UPS, who cannot deliver to a post office box.

Both FedEx and UPS will deliver to your door... the fact that they charge triple the mainland rate isn't Amazon's fault either.

I don't have Prime, and nearly always choose stuff that ships free. Pretty much everything that comes direct from Amazon comes FedEx, direct to my door. For free.

You have an address. Use it when buying on Amazon. Not shipping to a PO box is a non-issue.

Though certain stuff won't ship to Hawaii at all. Not just big, heavy stuff--I've had trouble getting computer cables, and of course any kind of aerosol can't be shipped here. But you can get either from eBay.

You can get most places to ship to you but you have to mess with the address during checkout. If it won't accept a PO Box, put your physical address on the first line and your PO box on the second. Sometimes on Amazon I have to omit the "-" in my address, sometimes I have to leave it in.

Also if your PO box is at the Hilo post office you can sign up for a free service where you use their street address #your box address and you can get fedex / ups parcels delivered. I don't know if the other POs are doing it. https://ribbs.usps.gov/mtcsa/documents/t...eement.pdf
