WOW,
Positive event today ... Entire park was 'over-run' with Keiki and family. ... As it should be.
Mahalo to organizers and entertainers. Please keep up your efforts.

Minor side note is not a hater in sight. The huge sign in back of truck in the normal eyeline spot was classic. Love it !

How nice that County is being "fair" in its failure to prosecute any sign code violations.

I drove by the park on the way home from the Hilo Library Saturday chess club, and it looked great. Lots of people, young and old having fun, music, dancing, not a hate truck in sight.

Also happened to go by and what a transformation! The idea to get ahead of old right-wing dude in "his" parking spot and put up a big sign was inspired. Very impressive take back a park citizen effort and completely changed the ambience along that whole street.

As no one has to date posted the info, I will state that Mr. borden probably knew of this planned event and decided to reach a different group by parking on Kamehameha Ave very near the Mo'oheau bandstand. Not only screaming signs and many little ones, but had at least two acolytes present and yelling at passersby. My favorite was "Jesus loves your unborn child" - or yet to be conceived child? Pretty much covers it, imo...

Fine, Jesus can pay for the prenatal care and child support.

I've always wondered why churches don't provide funds for pregnant women to encourage them to keep their child so the baby can be adopted, or so the mother knows she'll have financial help if she raises the child herself.
If they're going to talk the talk, they might as well walk the walk and do something to make a "pro-life" choice more possible for the person giving birth.
But instead it's mostly "you should do this because I say so."

I'm not sure it was mr. borden, but there were folks with signs up on Komohana near Waianuenue the other day. Happily, I didn't have time to read the signs as traffic whizzed by. That's one of the most annoying aspects of Lincoln park; the traffic is always stopped up there so you have time to read the signs.

That's because we live in 3rd world Hawaii where only a total moron would design an intersection like that one =)
