Yes. I think it is. Others call is shabby. But I don't think so....

Yes... It's definitely a nice place to look at...I just wouldn't want to live there!

Was in town last night and was reminded of why Hilo is never a residential option for me - that damned airport! Several times the vibrational feedback was astounding. No way I could sleep through that.

Being retired, not living in Hilo and not having to commute to it daily for work, plus not traveling to it more than once a month or so for any other reason, I find Hilo to be a nice place to visit, ... on occasion. The trip into town and back to Puna is what puts me off on Hilo. It's like Los Anchorage rush hour traffic from before sunup to well after sundown every day of the week.

Like any other drive, the more you do it, the shorter it gets.

Hilo may be picturesque during the daylight hours.. but at night it becomes Night of the Zombies from Kilauea ave. down to Bayfront.

Work..Consume...Obey - There's your meaning of life....

Not the way I see it.
Having driven regular long term daily commutes of up to 160 mi./day, it doesn't get shorter. You get number, less able to feel anything.
