Pictures from the parade
#1
Did anyone take any pictures of the Holiday Parade? I'd love to see some, and hopefully put some names with some faces.

I took 200+ shots at the Pahoa Parade but have lacked time and experience in uploading them to any site. I tried to set up on Flickr but could only accomplish getting one photo loaded. I don't have time to do that 200 times (and I lack high speed connection).

I can burn a CD if anyone wants to pick it up and upload it for me. I am in Pahoa Village.

Rob,

We haven't moved to the island yet, otherwise I would. Hopefully someone will be able to post some; I would love to see what I can look forward to next year.

Awesome Video! Thanks for sharing, it looked like a lot of fun. Very nicely put together too, I might say.

Tried Google. Didn't work. Or I don't know how to do it.

This year I was able to attend the Pahoa Christmas Parade. It was wonderful, family oriented and home grown, definitely my favorite of the two parades that day.

I worked the Pahoa Parade and didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but the few I have are posted at the site below.

The Pahoa Christmas parade reminded me of the Lumber jubilees of my youth, where families were involved in making the floats, children and animals, marching bands and music were the highlights. Lots of bubbles, donated by a local politician, loads of candy and good cheer, and a very special blessing along with Lama/Camels made the Pahoa Parade so special to me. I enjoyed meeting so many new people from Rainbow, to RC, Shawn and Kim, what fun was had by all!

Although the Keaau Light parade that night was colorful and did have some of the family feel and homey flavor, it tended more to the New York Macy's parade grander featuring countless lighted big rigs with big air horns a playin. The lighting was imaginative in most presentations but the number was over the top in my opinion.

More children, bands and lovely lighted lanterns and a wonderful float of flags and drums filled the night also, to make it special. My night photography needs much improvement though.

Many thanks to the Pahoa Business Association for coordinating and organizing this wonderful parade. Gene loves his shirt commemorating this event!

Aloha all and Mele Kalikimaka and e Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!
