At first I thought this was going to be one of the "Kingdom of Hawaii" license plate stories, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it was different bunch of nutjobs this time. So good to see the Big Island political craziness franchise has a new outlet. Keeps things interesting, doesn't it?

I hope the cops have plenty of ticket books... It looks like this could be a good cash crop for the city/county PD.

Fill a room with crackheads, lawyer up, and you govern. No one else is.

No city PDs on the Big Island. All government here is state or county.

State actually gets that ticket revenue, so there really isn't a big incentive to write tickets on behalf of the county.

They can skip the licensing, registration, and insurance all they want so long as they stay off the public roads. I guess they never considered that the universe doesn't revolve around them.

We all have the right to travel--even on public roads--without licensing, registration, or insurance. We just have to walk.
