Take care and get well soon. Sorry you are having to deal with this, but thank you for sharing your experience and location because it may turn out to be helpful to others.

Wecelli, thanks for the update and sure hope you start feeling better soon. That area of paradise park has been a hot spot for dengue for at least two months now. Unfortunately your not alone with the dengue, several others in your neighborhood have tested positive too. Thanks for getting tested wecelli as most I know who have been sick recently don't get tested or visit a doctor.
My friend who lived just a few streets down from you moved his family off island after going through this dengue sickness with his young son. He told me the spraying the DOH does for mosquitoes works well for a little while, but in no way did it stop the dengue from getting his grandmother sick next door or another neighbor across the street from him. He did self quarantine himself as best he could once finding out he and his son did have it, might have been to late though as it was a week or two after they were first experiencing dengue symptoms. Talk about contagious possibilities though. This group of 12 very young tourist who are somewhat YouTube stars have made many videos about their dengue experience from Hawaii, sometimes from the hospitals like ( Alli bout with dengue). 10 of the 12 from this group have been very sick with this dengue, That is half of the entire 20 tourists who have been infected by our Hawaiian dengue strain apparently. Again hope you feel better soon and thanks for the P.Park update.

Seems there is a good possibility the youtube "stars", one being the first case reported, who had been travelling in exotic areas just prior to their arrival here who brought it to us. They have a lot of audacity to go on and on about "getting" Dengue in Hawaii.

I agree 007, the overall nieve attitude about other countries health problems also is troubling. They visited some 25 other countries and 49 states in a short amount of time, doubt they took proper precautions for dengue while in other dengue infected countries. Yet you would think Our Big Island started this outbreak if you listen to them in their videos. Increased Tourism and future global warming is not a good recipe for our big island like it once was,JMO.

I was hoping that the outbreak was starting to trend downwards, but with the Waipio situation and your report, wecelli, it looks like another uptick week. I hope you recover quickly and fully.
Just call me Mike
Me ka ha`aha`a,

Hope you are getting a lot of good rest and keeping hydrated, and recover quickly. Please keep us informed on how you are doing. (((Hugs)))
Some of the symptoms of dengue are similar to what I have, lupus. If you need someone to talk to you are welcome to contact me. Do you have a mild, moderate or severe case? Pam in CA
