My instant hot water starts right up but keeps clicking even after it lights. Then it shuts off.
Anyone know which part is failing? Who's the local repair guy for these (same they sell at Maku'u)

For the price, it should be considered "disposable".

Sorry for being snide. It is significant that the clicking continues after it lights. It is not sensing the flame. There is a flame sensor in there that could be bad or the electronic controller could be bad. I have a Bosch water heater that I really like but it came out of the box with a bad controller. $200 later and it works like a charm.
I suppose that low propane pressure could make it seem like it was working, only to go off a few seconds later. However, the flame sensor should work and tell it to stop with the clicking. Just for the heck of it, try new batteries in case this is a symptom of low but not dead batteries.

Yeah batteries would be a good start I guess.
I took the cover off and it does light the gas as it should but must be a sensor that's gone.
It's almost disposable. But it's worked great til now. Don't want to toss it if I don't have to.

Replaced ours with a Takagi Jr. 3 years and no complaints so far, but hoping for a lot more given the price differential.
Just call me Mike

Your local repair guy is "C.J.", 936-0722, in Kapoho. He repairs, sells new, sells used, or will buy your old tankless for parts.
