Sleepless in Hawaii. Hawaii leads the nation in people who don't get enough shut eye. Is it the coqui frogs, noisy neighbors, year round warm nights for drinking the fine wahines or?

Dogs and roosters would be my guess. Lucky enough that those aren't near my place.
Some of us work hard and to pay bills and GET.

If my naps count, I'm ahead of the game. So many people here seem to get up way early, I guess they must stay up at night, also. I would be interested in why this varies across the country.

The real question is whether the link betweenSpam and insomnia is merely coincidental. I think not.

I do work that involves calling the East Coast on behalf of my clients, so I am often up at 3 and already in Hilo by 4, I've had to do conference calls even earlier sometimes. There are always people driving back to Puna, no matter how early I head into Hilo, as well as people who are commuting into Hilo alongside me. There are a lot of workers in the hospitality industry who commute to Kona side daily, and fisherman who go out in the middle of the night and return at the crack of dawn. I see kids get dropped off at school as early as 6 some mornings by parents who are heading to work, I doubt they are developing good sleep habits either.
I find it easier to go to bed at 7 or 8 here than I did to get to bed by 10 on the mainland, the fact that it doesn't stay light out until 10 or 11 in the summer is a big help, plus there is no nightlife here, so I am not tempted to go out on the town on work nights. I cannot wait to start telecommuting from Kapoho in May or June!
+ 1 Shockwave,
Can relate.
What to do ? Sometimes you stay up late to try to catch up maybe, but then those EC guys you just answered @ 2/3 AM punching in and start answering before you even sleep. Do you roll with it and get back them "promptly" or try to sleep and wake back up before they punch back out ?
Works the other way around too depending on what business. " I did not want to call you too late yesterday. "

I recall reading a study that we don't get enough rest. The weather is too good, and we are out and about year round, not engaging in cycles of rest.
