All,
I'm cooking an Easter curry for some friends this weekend (Badami Lamb Pasanda) and one of the ingredients is a little rosewater. I've never bought rosewater here and don't remember seeing it in stores, but haven't actually looked for it before.
I'm guessing the health food stores are the best options, but if anyone knows for sure where to buy some, I'd be very grateful.
(I'd make it myself if I had some roses!).

Tom, My GF says that the health food stores usually carry it.... YMMV
Good luck!

Thanks, Royall. Definitely not going down the online option in this case and your GF helps confirm what I assumed. Before starting the tour of health food stores I'll wait and see if anyone knows about a place for sure. A little bit of research suggests rosewater is used in some desserts, so waiting for those of you chefs with a sweet tooth!

Tom, you can make a rosewater by just boiling rose petals in water& straining out the petals (not true distilled rosewater) or do your own distillation, here is a kitchen method to distill:

If you need any fresh roses, we have red & light pink tea roses blooming in our garden right now...

About 5 years ago I purchased it at the health food store on bayfront. Call and see if they still carry it. It was in the culinary section.

Natch has it. Hilo anyways.

Thanks, everyone, really appreciate your help. I found some at Hilo Natch, so I won't need to destroy your roses, Carey!

I might make some, anyhow... no real destruction, they are a very prolific plant!

Best Indian curry I have ever made, and the rosewater certainly helped. Happy Easter everyone!
