So mad tonight.
#1
I'm in a bad mood, mad as hell. I went over to a house I have an interest in, belongs to a friend of mine. He's lived here many years. It's in Nanawale. He spent the last 5 years caring for his father, who died about a year ago. My friend has heart failure and has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. He wants to come back here and live out his last days. I just arranged to have a new roof put on his house in Jan. and I was there today to have the ceilings replaced. Upon arriving I saw the pump, filter and holding tank had been stolen, the shed torn apart. Yeah, that's what he needs right now. (I have to call him and tell him tomorrow.) Thanks so much to the low life Mokes that did this. I hope they get the same.

Someone posted this on a Facebook page just yesterday:

So sorry about your friend. He doesn't need this added to his troubles.

I hope the fact that craigslist ad has been removed -- never saw what it was but assume it was something stolen here -- means the police are onto the culprits. Very sorry to hear about this leilaniguy. Some people suck.

Or some perfectly innocent person just happened to be selling a pump on craigslist when Lellaniguy discovered the theft. Leilaniguy didn't list make or size or type of pump, so it is a big leap to assume that any pump being sold is the same one.

Hi good people, thanks for all the concern and especially the offer of a pump from BI, but I've already got an offer for a free pump. I saw the CL ad and no, that wasn't it, the pump was a stainless Grundfos and the tank was a blue 10 gal. I won't be installing new until my friend gets here. Life has gotten very interesting lately.

At this time security cameras and warning signs are a must for uninhabited houses in Puna. Not that expensive for the instant internet uploading Foscam with day/night vision. Less that $200 for 4 of them.

Sorry to hear about your friends misfortune. Perhaps getting a cage or housing welded around the replacement might help. If thieves have to work for something chances are good they will shine it and move on to an easier target. Well, that's what I keep hearing.
