This wandering Jew is in Kapoho for a couple of weeks and would love to find a community seder on this side of the island (preferably not one run by Chabad Lubavitch). Happy to drive up to Hilo if need be.

"The Seder is a [passover] ritual performed by a community or by multiple generations of a family, involving a retelling of the story of The liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt."
... in case anyone is wondering (I was).

Thanks for saving a google search, Paul. I didn't know what a seder was either.

Thanks, folks! How to find the Hui in HPP? (I've been here enough times to know what HPP is).
And sorry for the ethnocentrism of my post. It's a little odd to be in a world where a seder is an exotic phenomenon. Good for me to be reminded of that!

Drive down Makuu (the first main road in HPP, before Paradise when coming from Kapoho), it's at about 16th St.
Look for signs for HPPOA. It's on Makuu Rd itself.

Maholo, folks. Is this seder a potluck? If so, just how strictly kosher for passover is it? (Sephardic or Ashkenazic version of what's allowed is the big thing for community sederim in Seattle, where I live most of the year). Don't think I can kasher things at the house where I'm staying LOL.

When you pass 17th look on the left hand side for a driveway just beyond the mail boxes. Turn in the driveway and go past the small office building on the right. Keep on going, and you will see a community center and parking area at the end of the drive. Enjoy your seder and the nice people you will meet there.

This Seder is not kosher or strict in any way. Yes it's a potluck.
BTW, the Last Supper was a Passover Seder.

Please don't apologize, Laura, it seems a few of us have learned something new thanks to your question. I think one of the most important things someone can do during their life is to learn new things at every opportunity and you've helped us to do that. I even looked up Chabad Lubavitch as that was something I'd never heard of either. Thank you!
And welcome to Punaweb.
PS. Thank you, Mendo, I had no idea that was the case.
