Thank you for sharing this mornings comic's Akpilot. Wally has never been easier to spot or find than in that group of mainlanders and over educated astronomers. Please try posting the time and place of the next tmt supporters waving event in advance because I would also like to be there.

group of mainlanders and over educated astronomers.

Formula for invisibility:

Take a Native Hawaiian person
Add support for the TMT
Change-o! presto!
Invisible!

Maybe, gypsy, with your low opinion of education, you shouldn't let your son go to Princeton. Wouldn't want him to become over-educated? .. On a side note, my youngest son is a friend of your son and I have met your son and wife before too. She is a very nice lady.

I'd like to know about the next one too! Great to see so much support out there. Maybe there is hope for this place.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but life is too sweet to throw mud.

My opinion...I'd be spinning signs like a Lady Liberty tax sign waver on April 14th!

Go TMT!

[...]"and over educated astronomers."

I suspect anyone who comprehends a Dick and Jane story would be over-educated in Gypsy's world.

(BBM) Aloha ahiahi, Mr. PaulW, and all. (Remaining in support, with conditions..., Sir.)

There is great hope for "this place". Finding the balance and following the "law of the land" (which is under US law, for the record), what is right will happen. TMT is not the "end all, be all" for this island. (Neither was the spaceport proposed back in the day, or any other project that was a part of "change".)

Gypsy, mahalo for your mana'o...I get your train of thought, albeit extreme at times. However, I try to remember a "key board" does not always express (completely) one's heartfelt opinion as well as the spoken word; some things tend to get misconstrued.

Nevertheless, sending your son off to Princeton will be the substance of your efforts. Perhaps the words, "over educated astronomers" was a tad inappropriate/inaccurate. (Personally, don't believe anyone can ever be "over educated" in anything!)

In this issue, Judge Amano will continue her diligence, no matter the sign waving, etc., especially in an election year. I believe she will follow the law. Wally Ishibashi is also a very good man, as is Richard Ha, and others on the newly formed PUEO group (*Part of the list requesting to be included in the hearings):

There is great support for TMT, which has brought to the forefront, many proposed solutions to very old problems, thankfully. At the very least, the State/BLNR/DLNR/UH and all who have failed miserably, have a chance to make things right.

Without TMT, we would not have all the past problems brought to light. (No pun intended...[Big Grin])

Aloha, Mr. Tom, safe travels, Sir (Aloha, Pam!).

JMO.

ETA: I would deduce, the next big showing of support (for both sides) will be at the next hearing:

The next pre-hearing conference on the upcoming Thirty Meter Telescope contested case will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the County Council Chambers of the Hawaii County Building in Hilo.

Aloha opihikao, that's exactly my hope, that the law will prevail and all attempts at progress, even something so utterly innocuous as a telescope, won't be halted or delayed interminably by the illegal and sometimes revolting behavior of a tiny group of anti-science fanatics. Otherwise Hawaii may descend slowly into the abyss.
