Traffic backed up past Ainaloa all the way to Makuu blvd in HPP and line of cars growing.

They were working on the frames on Wednesday when I went to the pool...I had just thought it was "sprucing up" for an event... maybe they are changing out older equipment (they were getting to look a little "rusted FEMA"... not the full blown Hilo Market "really rusted out FEMA special" look...)

I they were going to do any repair or replacement work this would be a good time since they are closed on Christmas Sunday they would have almost 2 weeks to do whatever they wanted.

Neighbor who has permanent booth just said he didn't know, either, but thinks they might be replacing the framing bc a lot of it is bent up. And a lot of the tarps have holes in them. So maybe new stuff will go up.

Maku'u Market will be closed on Christmas and New Year's...they were handing out reminders to people about it a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, I figured they would be closed, just curious about taking the poles down. Nice if they are upgrading!

Anyone else know about the bbq joint off the highway? The sign even had a black plastic bag over it. Hope they didn't close.

Horrible location with that steep driveway and the busy highway. I hope they move.
