Did he deserve this?

This man was also a police officer before working with the DLNR.

Anyone know why this man was let go by the police dept?

Now that he has been fired by the DLNR, could the tax payers get any of his year long paid leave money returned?

Does he deserve probation for a year or two?

Falsifying reports and lying to superiors.

He had to know someone to get hired after being fired for falsifying reports and lying to his superiors. The current victims probably have an easy suite now due to his being hired with that history. Whoever hired him should face some consequences.

Indeed.. he should have never been hired by DLNR. Unless he has relatives working in the same dept.. the hiring filters are obviously broken.

I gathered that he received two months of paid leave, from January to March. Now that he's been found guilty and fired, no more pay.

I think he has been paid for over a year maybe fifteen months of paid leave. The rape happened on New Years day, first day of 2016, in Hilo. This article states that the DLNR dept was warned, Even told by HPD not to hire him.

Finding it Hard to trust or respect the folks who do the hiring within the Hilo DLNR dept lately. Officers, especially those in uniform should be held accountable and to a high standard. Let's hope this guy was a lone bad apple from this very large rooted DLNR tree.
Sounds or appears like the right paperwork resources are made available within the DLNR and the HPD justice dept's to assist or help criminal officers like this one cover their side of the many daily stories. This man's past victims are the only true Hero's in this black eye case for me. I hope a good lawyer or two will offer their services to help this local hero here. jmo
