Anyone know about having things shipped from the mainland to Fern Forest using a physical address? A lot of the companies I order supplies from for my business do not ship to PO Boxes, so I'm wondering if there are any problems getting things sent to a physical address. I know the addresses shown on Google Maps are incorrect for this area.

I've had no problems getting orders to my physical adrs. To make sure I get my order one way or another, I use both my physical adrs and my HC Box adrs as my mailing adrs. Since I've done this, I've had no problems.
Edited to fix RR box vs HC Box.

Sign up with both online. They will let you know (email) when your packages arrive and will be delivered. They can also tell you if they deliver to your area.
I use both my addresses too, as Mermaid suggested. So far it's worked for Amazon orders too.

UPS and FedEx will deliver to my physical address but not to a PO box. The USPS will deliver to a PO Box and in fact gives me one for free because they won't deliver to my physical address.

And make sure you have a clearly visible address on your property, so they can find you!

It's not very well publicized but your PO BOX also includes a street address for receiving FedEx, UPS, and other carriers. You have to fill out a form to activate it, but it's free to anybody with a PO BOX:
Explanation of service:
https://ribbs.usps.gov/index.cfm?page=mtcsa
Form you need to submit:
https://ribbs.usps.gov/mtcsa/documents/t...eement.pdf
Your "street address" will be the street address of the post office with "#XXX" (where XXX is your post office box number). Do NOT put "box #XXX" or "PO BOX #XXX" or else it violates the agreement. Just "#XXX".
This service used to be relatively worthless because the PO box street addresses used to not be in the USPS system of acceptable addresses all the online merchants use, but this has recently changed and I have no problem getting FedEx and UPS packages at the USPS now.
Supposedly, "most" post offices participate in this program, but that is no guarantee that yours will. Apparently if you can find your post office's street address in the following file, they are supposed to participate in the program:
https://ribbs.usps.gov/mtcsa/documents/t.../mtcsa.txt
But to answer your original question, yes, UPS and FedEx generally deliver to street addresses in Puna.

Also need to add, at one point I also submitted the following form which sends me an email or text message when I'm getting mail at the PO Box that day (usually works, not 100% accurate", and "signature on file" so that supposedly I don't have to sign for incoming deliveries that request delivery signature confirmation (this feature has never actually worked though).
But for some reason I couldn't find this form at usps.gov, but this is the form I submitted:

That would mean you'd then p/u UPS or FEDEX pkgs at the post ofc? If so, I'd prefer getting pkgs delivered to my house...less hassle for me.

I don't know about FedEx or UPS but I have been able to get Post Office Box delivery from companies that don't ship to P.O. Boxes this way:
At the end of my street address (which the post office does not deliver to) I add my box number this way bx100.
Then, most critically, I use the zip+4 as in 96778-0100
So far it works without fail.
By the way my box number is not 100.
Actually it was Royall who taught me this trick.

That doesn't work so well if the post office where your box is isn't in the same zip code as your street address.
